St. Stephen's Day School

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School, serving PreK(3) to Grade 5, was founded by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in 1958. The original intent of the Church in creating the School was to accommodate the educational needs of Church families. Over the years, the constituency of the School has changed, and the relationship between the School and the Church has evolved. The School is now a primary outreach of the Church into the broader community.
Through the School, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church touches the future. We educate children in a Christian community which provides not only academic excellence but also spiritual formation. As an Episcopal school, we draw from the foundations of the Anglican Church: Scripture, Tradition and Reason. We also firmly believe that “from everyone to whom much has been given much will be expected” (St. Luke 12:48). Therefore education at St. Stephen’s includes stewardship: that lifelong sense of responsibility to all of God’s creation by sharing material and intellectual gifts with others, and by caring for the earth as our home.
As a primary outreach of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, our goal is to further develop the School community as one which reflects the diversity of the broader world. Toward that goal, St. Stephen's Episcopal Day School is committed to reaching a goal of 10% (the Biblical tithe) of net tuition being designated yearly as financial aid in order to reach a broader section of the community. Recently, the Board of Trustees established a general school endowment fund which will create even more opportunities for the granting of financial aid.
